University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) is pleased to welcome international students for its two-week International Summer School from July 10-23, 2017.
The UESTC summer program presents opportunities for international students to advance their knowledge and understanding in Engineering and Entrepreneurship. Beside the academic lectures, the two-week program offers many cultural excursions and visits. Participating students will spend two weeks during summer experiencing study and life abroad as well as having a glimpse of the local community and tradition. They will exchange ideas, share experiences and create a new global network. The program serves as a culture banquet for those who are interested in different civilizations, cuisines and life styles.
The selected two academic courses cover subjects on edge-cutting ICT technology. Instructors are from world-renowned universities. We also facilitate programs for organized groups as well as for individual students.

UESTC is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, P. R. China, a historical city known as the breeding center for giant pandas, birthplace of tea culture, and the City of Gastronomy named by UNESCO in 2010. Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan Province, the center of politics, economics, culture and technology, commerce, trade and finance in southwest China. Chengdu is the fourth largest mega-city in China, with a population of 14 million and a total area of 12,400 sq km.

III、Chengdu Hot Pot
Hot Pot is regarded as a brilliant flower in a garden of Chinese cuisines. You shall never forget about mentioning the well-known Hot Pot of Chengdu whenever you talk about Sichuan cuisine. It is relatively fresher and is comprised of a red pot, a white pot or a dual pot to cater for the needs of all customers.
Generally, the Sichuan Opera refers to an ethnic folk art that people living in Southwestern provinces of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou love to see and hear. It has a long history, many excellent traditional repertoires, rich music and exquisite performing art. Some performers even created a series of stunts to portray characters, such as lifting, opening the third eye, face-changing, jumping flaming hoops, hiding knives, etc., acclaimed as the peak of perfection.
Dujiangyan Irrigation System
Dujiangyan Irrigation System, built 2,250 years ago by Li Bing, the Shu governor of the Qing Dynasty, together with his son and their subjects. It was constructed to tame the floods plaguing the Chengdu plain. This project is still functioning today.
Mount Qingcheng, the birthplace of China’s Taoism, houses a famous summer resort.
